Audi has a growing range of pure electric cars and plug-in hybrid cars.

In November 2019, Audi announced a whopping €12 billion up-front investment in research and development purely for electric vehicles.

    The objective of the Audi group is to have over 30 electric vehicles in its model range, and 20 of these will be fully electric.

    The Audi e-tron Sportback was displayed at the world premiere in Los Angeles

    The new all-electric Audi e-tron Sportback was launched in Los Angeles in November 2019, and is now available to order.  Market introduction in Europe will be in spring 2020.

    The Audi Q5 TFSI e combines a 185 kW TFSI engine with an electric motor providing a combined power output of 270 kW.

    The model includes Audi’s quattro active four-wheel drive.

    The Audi Q7 TFSI e replaces the Audi Q7 e-tron in its plug-in hybrid range

    The Audi Q7 TFSI e is the plug-in hybrid version of the high-end Q7 SUV range. The previous incarnation – the Q7 e-tron – had a diesel engine.  This new version swaps the diesel for a petrol-powered engine, and combines it with a 94 kW electric motor.

    The Q7 TFSI is available in two versions – the Q7 60 TFSI e with 335 kW and the Q7 55 TFSI with 280 kW. Both will go on sale in the UK in early 2020.

    The Audi A3 Sportback e-tron plug-in hybrid car was withdrawn from sale by Audi following the introduction of tougher new WLPT tests for fuel emissions and consumption.

    The A3 Sportback e-tron is still eligible for an OLEV grant for home charger installation.
